Are dental implants right for you? | Infinity Dental

Perhaps you have lost a single tooth because of an accident or extensive decay. Maybe you need to replace several teeth and you want an alternative to a dental bridge. Perhaps you have or need dentures, but you would prefer something more permanent, comfortable and natural looking. In all of these cases, dental implants may be the answer for you.

What is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a three-part replacement for one or more teeth. Those three parts include (1) a titanium post that is implanted into the jawbone, (2) an abutment, which is placed over the part of the implant that extends beyond the gum line, and (3) the crown, which is fitted over the abutment and provides the natural appearance of a tooth.

If you need to replace one or two teeth, you may choose implants. However, dental implants can also serve as anchors or support for the replacement of several teeth as well as partial or full dentures.

Which solution is best for you?

The expert dentists at Infinity Dental can evaluate your oral health and determine if a dental implant suits your needs. Dental implants are generally suitable for adults of any age and including those who have gum disease, bone loss, chronic medical conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure or who are currently wearing dentures or a bridge. Children are still growing, however, and so implants are appropriate only in special cases.

Advantages of dental implants

Individuals who choose dental implants enjoy more self-confidence, natural looking replacement teeth and a better quality of life. Use of implants helps prevent bone loss and the cutting down of healthy teeth in order to insert a bridge. If you have partial or complete dentures, your days of clicking, slipping or discomfort can be over.

Up to 98% of dental implants are successful and yours can be too!
